It depends on what soup you want to order. Seafood soups are water based, meat soups are beef broth based.
Get from uber eatTaste really good😚
My favorite menu is spicy tofu soup and jeyuk. Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, great home-like flavor. It is an authentic Korean restaurant!!
Yummy Korean fare. Casual setting.
One of my favorite places for Korean food! Their Pajeon and chicken dishes are quite delicious! Service is fast and the ambiance is alright!
Tried to support local small business during pandemic but it really disappointed me for today’s order! They used the cheapest possible paper container for dish that contain sauce/liquid. I lived three minutes from here and when I get home my bag is already like a swimming pool! Do the owner not know about this issue? I’m so sure I won’t be the only one complaining about this. When you charge higher than average price you should be thinking about the presentation of the food not just money! The container you used it’s for dry products....also the quality of food is not good either compare to before. I used to go there very often but not anymore....
As a fellow korean never order takeouts or delivery from here. Cultural disgrace. Charge 16 for dakgalbi and u get 1 rice and 10pieces. 0 side dish.
Solid place for Korean food. Service was great and the food was delicious. I enjoyed the spicy pork the best. Will be back soon.
Ma Dang Goul is one of the favourites in the area of the missus and I don't mind it one bit. I particularly enjoy the combos which include a barbeque item as well as a soup. Gets quite busy at dinner but smaller groups shouldn't find it too troublesome.
It’s popular Korean restaurant with even foreigners and famous for affordable price and good taste. Plus, kind staff who protected me from crushing toilet door the other day, who went into kitchen with wearing hat. I want to say thanks.
I found this gem years ago and whenever I go there, I always get the same good service, the same exquisite tasty food and the same culinary satisfaction. I almost, always order their short rib rice bowl, the short rib is perfectly cooked to a medium rare and the kimchi daikon is always perfectly fermented, the egg yolk is my favourite touch to it, does bring all the flavours together. In addition, I often get one of their noodle dishes. Their Dungeness crab with the seaweed noodles is definitely good go to. So much flavours packed in one dish. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for tasting a fine Asian/Korean cuisine.
Very nice and authentic. The best kimchi ever.
Really incredible tasting food... I have eaten here several times ajd it is definitely my goto when in downtown Vancouver... cozy, quaint and especially welcoming... my server had a smile that never stopped and was so pleasant and helpful throughout service. The food is delicious!!! And the one thing that sticks out is the consistency of deliciousness that happens everytime I go to MDG.
Small cozy spot. Quick service but not exceptional and above average Korean food by Vancouver standards.
Very cozy and homey kinda Korean comfort food joint. Simple and tasty!!
Really good and authentic food. Soups are 10 to 13 CAD and are a real meal (nice side dishes are included).
I have returned many times to this restaurant and can confirm it’s my favourite Korean restau in Vancouver. I love their soups to their mandu (dumplings) to their pork belly dishes. They have special combos where you can add a soup to your entree and that’s enough food for 2 meals. Their spicy grilled pork belly dish served with rice and lettuce to be eaten as a wrap is the best thing I have ever eaten in my life! I cannot wait to return.
Okay for a quick grab and bite, but Lougheed still has better Korean cuisine in my opinion.
My new favourite place to get some excellent Korean food. After a 15 min walk from the Vancouver Aquarium, I welcomed a nice bowl of cold noodles and a side of spicy pork. The noodles come in a cold soup and they provide two kinds of sauces to adjust the flavour to your liking. One was vinegar and the other was mustard-like. The spicy pork was an excellent compliment to the cold noodles and I switched back and forth to put down some of the heat. We also had a seafood soondobu which was chalk full of seafood flavour. Probably the most true seafood taste from other seafood soondubu I’ve had in the past. Soft tofu was good and the amount and quality of seafood was excellent. Would definitely recommend and will be back to try their other dishes!
Good taste and good price
Went here during Canada day rush. It was super busy so service wasn't great but I gave them some slack due to how busy they were. The food was just amazing, that's all I care about. I want to come back and try more stuff!
This restaurant is pretty good :)Food is yummy and the price is also reasonable. This place is always busy!!!
Decent food. Great pricing. Timely service. Their potato side dish is exceptionally good. Like that soondubu comes in beef and seafood. Only downside was that the door constantly opening kept bringing a cold draft to the room.
Best Korean Restaurant in Vancouver! Tried different ones and found this is the most authentic one! Love their tofu soup, grilled pork, side dishes and seafood pancake!!!
Really good food at MDG! Bought the kimchi to go as well. They have awesome kimchi here.
Took my pregnant wife to eat here on a slow Thursday. Because the place was stuffy we asked to be seated by the window. We were first to get seated but was last to be served. They did not even give us water until we waved them down to order. It was slow no line up. Horrible service. After waiting for 20 minutes we realized they forgot to put in our order and need to wait for another 20 minutes more. Seriously?! Server was dropping drinks as well. I used to come here a lot with my friends. The food is not worth the terrible service.
This place is amazing. Great menu/prices and the dishes are absolutely delicious. Best part about this restaurant is how the food makes you feel afterwards- like your body is glowing. Not sure if its the kimchi or the spiciness but can't recommend this place enough. Food therapy.
They charge 18% gratuity for a group of 10 even though we sit separately and rarely get to interact. Made more sense for the table of 6 to pay the set gratuity and the tableof 4 to pay a custom gratuity. On top of that, when we ask the staff to help us cut and portion out the noodles, she just pointed to us the scissors on the table instead of helping. I mean we are paying 18% gratuity which is more than the average, you would have thought you would get better service but not really. Decent food but I wouldn’t go again just because of my bad experience with the service.
The fried chicken is awesome
Delicious food, good service. I really enjoy the soups. Very good value for money.
The food here is pretty solid! If you're in the area and looking for some solid Korean food, stop by! They also have $5-$6 beers, so decent price for sure. Is the selection of Korean food amazing? I wouldn't say it is, but they have dishes I haven't seen at other Korean restaurants in Vancouver.
Go and try their rice. Their hot, just served rice is the best in town. Best suit for any authentic soup they made in house. Definitely comforting food!!!! Fantastic!
one of my favourite Korean restaurants in Vancouver, no bbq here, but all the food is very tasty
Go with a friend so you could share your dishes as they are quite big. Pretty tasty but could be spicy though!
Tried Korean Hot Pot, feels like homemade comfort meal, great alternative on rainy winter day. The portion is for 2 to share however I found it can be Solo friendly if you are hungry. The meal came with 4 side dishes - fresh salad, Kimchi, beansprout and poached potato. The hotpot is loaded with 3 kinds of mushrooms, seasonal vegetables, tofu, sliced beef and glass noodle in a spicy booth.
They had the best Gamjatang in the city - Average now - it used to be our goto spot for gamjatang - damso on denman has them beat now
Good food and decent service. Line forms kinda fast and they can get backed up super fast. Head there earlier to secure your spot! Not very good for groups even more than 2.
Yummy homestyle Korean food. Really good fried chicken. Small place that gets really packed in the evening with a line outside. They do takeout orders as well. Clean, good service, English friendly.
Best Korean hotpot. Only place you will get chicken base soup
Great location. Wonderful staff.
Really great small Korean restaurant. Every time I've been there the food has been consistently great! Prices are also reasonable for what you are getting!
We often come here dining after we fisinsh skiing. The price is fair.
Magical experience. The fried chicken is a must have!
This place is a small, unassuming Korean BBQ restaurant with delicious food. While the gyoza and the bulgogi were delicious, the real highlight was the tender, juicy, and flavourful pork belly that may very well be the best I've ever had. The only reservation I have about this place is that they should expand their menu so that there are more choices. Otherwise, great place to try out!
Ma Dang Goul provides the best Kimchi in Van. I love its side dishes.
Delicious food. The inside needs a good clean and some paint!
Good taste and not expensive. All staff are kind.
Grater Vancouver's best seafood pancake!
Superior service, good sized portions.. fried chicken is fabulous.. should be their signature dish😋😋😋
Authentic and delicious with generous portion. Kind staff with great service.
atmosphere is basic, but quality of food and service is above avg for korean food in downtown. sometimes gets busy with small line that moves fast. most dishes are good, very few were subpar
